Summary
Assists in obstetrical surgeries by preparing instruments and supplies, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting surgeons in the Labor and Delivery unit.
Overview
Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.Responsibilities

Education- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
- 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
- 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
