OCC Traffic Controller

The role:

The Traffic Controller is responsible for the real-time coordination, regulation, and supervision of train movements across the high-speed rail network. The role ensures safe, punctual, and efficient train operations while coordinating operational responses, maintenance access, and incident management activities.

Your responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe and punctual operation of trains across the network.
• Protect maintenance work areas from moving trains and other rail vehicles.
• Set routes manually for train and other authorized vehicle movements.
• Pre-plan routes using the automatic route setting system.
• Coordinate with train crews and provide operational instructions as required.
• Coordinate with traffic dispatchers to support service recovery.
• Coordinate rail corridor access for authorized activities and maintenance work.
• Coordinate with the safety and security desk, stations, and traffic control during emergencies.
• Notify engineering control of technical faults, incidents, and operational disruptions.
• Maintain accurate incident records using the Incident Control Log System.

Your profile/ qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Traffic Management, Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Railway Operations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in traffic control, railway operations, or a similar operational role.
• Sound knowledge of traffic management compliance requirements, operating regulations, and safety standards.
• Relevant traffic control certification is preferred.
• General understanding of railway operations and train movement principles.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Highly reliable and able to make sound decisions while working safely under pressure.
• Strong commitment to safety, operational discipline, and accurate record-keeping.
