Occupational Health Support Staff – Post Offer Employment Testing (POET)
The Occupational Health Support Staff – POET position supports occupational health and injury prevention programs through the administration of post-offer employment testing and functional capacity assessments. This role evaluates candidates' ability to safely perform essential job functions by following standardized testing protocols, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting occupational health screening programs. The position collaborates closely with clinical staff, Human Resources, hiring leaders, and candidates to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional testing experience.
Key Responsibilities

- Conduct post-offer employment testing and functional capacity assessments in accordance with established protocols and client requirements.
- Instruct candidates on testing procedures and ensure safe participation throughout the assessment process.
- Monitor candidate performance during testing and identify concerns requiring clinical review.
- Accurately and objectively document testing results, observations, and outcomes within designated systems.
- Maintain testing equipment, testing areas, and related materials to ensure operational readiness and compliance with program standards.
- Schedule and coordinate candidate appointments, testing activities, and follow-up requirements.
- Communicate professionally with candidates, hiring leaders, Human Resources representatives, and occupational health staff regarding scheduling and testing processes.
- Escalate safety concerns, abnormal findings, or testing issues to clinical staff for review and appropriate follow-up.
- Assist with occupational health services including drug testing, breath alcohol testing, hearing conservation testing, vision screening, spirometry, and other medical surveillance activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Support injury prevention initiatives through consistent administration of testing protocols and promotion of workplace safety principles.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of candidate and team member health information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Maintain inventory of testing supplies and coordinate replacement or repair of equipment as needed.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, quality assurance activities, and program improvement initiatives.
- Support clinic operations and occupational health programs as assigned.
