Odoo Functional Consultant (Accounting & Finance)
Responsibilities
Configure and validate Odoo finance setups (as applicable):
Chart of Accounts, Journals, Fiscal Periods/Lock Dates
Taxes, Tax Grids, Fiscal Positions
Customer Invoicing, Vendor Bills, Credit Notes, Payment Terms
Payments, Bank Import/Bank Sync (if used), Bank Reconciliation
Multi-company and Multi-currency configurations
Analytic Accounting / Cost Centers, Budgets (if applicable)
Interactions between Accounting and other Odoo flows that impact finance (e.g., inventory valuation, expense posting), within scope
Produce functional deliverables for Odoo finance implementations:
Fit-gap notes, configuration documentation, and configuration log entries
UAT scenarios/scripts and evidence support
End-user guides/quick references for finance users
Support finance data activities in Odoo:
Master data templates (customers, vendors, accounts, taxes)
Trial imports and reconciliation support
Opening balances approach support (coordination + validation)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years experience as an Odoo Functional Consultant (or ERP functional consultant) with hands-on delivery for Odoo Accounting/Finance.
- Strong functional knowledge of accounting fundamentals (GL, AR, AP, taxes, bank reconciliation).
- Practical experience configuring and supporting Odoo Accounting processes end-to-end (from setup to UAT/go-live).
- Ability to analyze issues, propose Odoo-standard solutions, and explain trade-offs clearly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other ERP systems.
- Odoo certification(s), especially finance/accounting-related.
- Experience with bank feed setups, payment providers, or finance-related integrations in Odoo.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
