Office Manager

You will oversee the daily operations of our office in the Gambia, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently. You will supervise, mentor, and coach office management employees while delegating assignments for maximum productivity. You will coordinate domestic and international travel, manage the office budget, and keep health and safety policies up to date. You will own purchasing of office supplies, equipment, and furniture, draft contracts and management reports, and work with maintenance companies to keep the office clean and safe. You will report office progress to senior management and help improve office operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate general office operations on a day-to-day basis
• Supervise, mentor, train, and coach office management employees
• Implement and maintain office administrative systems and procedures
• Coordinate domestic and international travel including flights, hotels, and car rentals
• Manage the office budget
• Ensure health and safety policies are up to date
• Own the purchase of office supplies, equipment, and furniture and maintain stock levels
• Draft contracts, write office management playbooks, and create presentations and reports
• Coordinate with maintenance companies to keep the office clean, safe, and in good working condition
• Report office progress to senior management and improve office operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar position
• Degree or professional experience in Administration or logistics
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Fluent Wolof
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with a proven track record managing complex office environments
• Proven track record of dealing with external vendors and negotiating costs
• Work authorization in the Gambia
