Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

  • This is a full-time clerical support position for Adult Probation and Parole Services.

  • This position will primarily provide clerical support for the Electronic Monitoring Unit.

  • This is complex clerical work involving the use of independent judgement.

  • Work may also involve frequent interactions with departmental staff, other agencies, and community partners.

  • Work is performed with considerable independence and is subject to periodic changes in operating procedures.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • This position reports directly to the Electronic Monitoring Unit Supervsior.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • 20% Process paperwork for incoming electronic monitoring cases, to include reviewing client home assessments to verify a residence is suitable for electronic monitoring supervision. Conduct client phone calls based on home assessment for follow-up questions as needed.

  • 15% Prepare equipment for installation, to include adding client profile in BI with assigned equipment.

  • 15% Maintain equipment inventory including ordering equipment from BI if needed and sending back any damaged equipment.

  • 15% Clean and inspect equipment.

  • 10% Process the billing for Vigilnet and BI.

  • 10% Liaison with Vigilnet for SCRAM related questions and schedule removal of SCRAM equipment.

  • 5% Monitor on-hold electronic moniroing cases that were not able to be scheduled immediately and conduct necessary follow-up.

  • 5% Monitor lost equipment spreadsheets and conduct follow-up as needed in conjunction with unit supervisor.

  • 5% Conduct electronic monitoring orientation as needed.

OTHER SPECIFIC TASKS OR DUTIES

  • Perform related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education equivalent to completion of high school including course work in standard business practice office procedures or equivalent;

  • Two years of experience in clerical and/or typing experience in an administrative, professional or judicial setting; or any combination of acceptable education and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities cited above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of general principles and policies of the criminal justice system.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to use and operate office equipment such as personal computer, facsimile machine, and copier.

  • Complete understanding of basic English to include usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, visitors, clients, and representatives from other agencies.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor with criminal justice clients.

  • Ability to organize workload, establish priorities, and complete clerical processing requirements.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CLEARANCES

  • The candidate must pass a criminal background check and reference checks.
