purpose & SCOPE OF Position

The position of Quality Assurance Officer is primarily responsible for, ensuring that the Thomas Foods International (TFI) HACCP based Quality System is implemented within TFI Tamworth site Departments.

The QA Officer must monitor production to ensure the products meet yield targets and customers’ specifications, providing employees with support and training in this area and ensure all the WH&S requirements are met as per TFI Company Policies and relevant acts. Customer quality requirements must be met, along with legislative and regulatory requirements to QA, WHS, Approved Arrangement standards. The TFIT plant services the Domestic & Export markets

duties & RESPONSIBILITIES of position

Accountabilities

§ Pre operational Hygiene inspection

§ Check Personal Equipment’s meets SOP requirements

§ Meat Hygiene Assessment inspection

§ Process Monitoring inspection

§ AUSMEAT standard officer checks

§ Temperatures control checks

§ 10x reweighs

§ Test weights, morning and afternoon. Check signed by scales operator

§ Check inserts

§ Process flows

§ Attend QA Meetings when required

§ Witness & monitor calibration for CL result

§ Witness & monitor calibration of metal detectors

§ Collect water samples for chlorine testing

§ Witness test weights

§ Assist with internal audits if requested.

§ Customer Complaints follow up

§ Report findings to supervisory team.

§ Adhere to Approved Arrangement & SOP guidelines.

§ During external audits & visits take the lead role within you department, answer questions if required in a professional manner.

§ Read & understand the sites Approved Arrangement Guidelines & relevant standard operating procedures.

General Responsibilities

§ Production Hygiene and Sanitation Monitoring.

§ Process & product Monitoring.

§ Meat Hygiene Assessment of Production.

§ Product conformance with AUS-MEAT and customer quality standards including offal.

§ All reports are completed in a timely manner

§ Adhere to DAWE requirements

§ Ensuring the plant and employees work to TFIT standards including TFIT Quality system, HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practice, IMS, Environmental Management system and training programs.

§ Additional quality monitoring as required

Management Team Membership

§ Supporting team members where appropriate

§ Maintaining and improving your personal professional development

§ Support the WHS responsibilities of their department by assisting in the identification of hazards and the implementation of risk controls

Authorities

§ Determine disposition of product and inform Foreman/Supervisor of decision.

§ Immediately inform Supervisor and TFIT Quality Manager of concerns as required by TFIT Quality System.

§ Take immediate action and retain any TFIT product that may have a problem and hold until checked and cleared by the appropriate personnel.

§ Responsible for the timely & correct correlation of relevant data.

Other duties

§ This role includes the deputation of the QA Supervisor in the absence of the responsible person. (QAS)

§ Performs any other duties as directed or required.
