Job Summary

StarX Capital Markets Pte. Ltd. is expanding its China Offshore Credit franchise and seeks an experienced Sales Trader – Offshore China Credit to drive institutional client engagement and execute trades in offshore Chinese USD and CNH bonds, delivering tailored FX hedging solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain strategic relationships with institutional clients such as asset managers, hedge funds, private banks, securities firms, and family offices investing in offshore China credit markets to expand business opportunities
  • Execute trades in offshore Chinese USD bonds and CNH bonds by collaborating with market counterparties, brokers, and liquidity providers to secure competitive pricing and liquidity
  • Identify and implement FX hedging strategies (including FX swaps, NDFs, and spot transactions) to manage currency mismatches for clients investing in offshore credit products
  • Deliver timely market intelligence by providing clients with insights on pricing, market trends, new issues, secondary market opportunities, and relative value trades in offshore China credit markets
  • Advise institutional investors on structuring investment portfolios in offshore Chinese credit products, including execution strategies and FX risk management to optimize returns and mitigate risks

Required competencies and certifications

  • Eligibility for registration as a Representative with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under the Capital Markets Services license framework

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in offshore China credit markets, including roles such as Sales Trader, Credit Sales, Fixed Income Trader, or Bond Broker
  • Proven experience trading China offshore USD bonds, CNH bonds, or within Asia credit markets
  • Established network among Chinese asset managers, offshore funds, private banks, or securities firms
  • Proficient understanding of FX hedging instruments related to cross-border bond investments
  • Strong communication skills demonstrated by effective client engagement and relationship management in fast-paced trading environments
  • Familiarity with Singapore financial markets or education background in Singapore
