On-Site Data Center Technician: Server Hardware Expert

AMD's Field Services team is seeking a Datacenter Technician to support customers and AMD teams as they deploy, operate, and maintain server infrastructure in a data center environment. This hands-on, customer-facing role involves troubleshooting hardware and system issues, supporting rack deployments, sustaining operations, and contributing to knowledge-base articles and SOPs.

Provide on-site technical support in a data center environment. Support break-fix activities for new rack deployments and incident management for sustaining operations. Perform customer-directed data center activities, including replacing or configuring network devices and servers, power cycling equipment, patch management, and cabling. Participate in root-cause and failure analysis activities as directed by the customer engineering team. Provide logistical support for asset management, data center floor-plan audits, and related operational activities. Assist senior technicians or local AMD Services leadership with periodic reports aligned to customer specifications. Provide technical assistance to senior members of the local AMD technical team and guidance to more junior team members. Provide timely, detailed updates to AMD management on service issues that may affect customer service-level agreements. Work closely with local, regional, and global AMD Services leadership when responding to customer communications and escalations. Represent AMD professionally in every customer interaction and contribute to knowledge-base articles, standard operating procedures, and other reusable technical documentation. Work flexible hours when needed to support customer delivery. Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/telecommunications or related field; practical experience also valued. CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification preferred. CompTIA Server+ or equivalent certification preferred. Microsoft certification, including MCP or MCSE, is desirable. AMD benefits at a glance
