ON SITE ENGINEER (MARINE)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Engineers in the planning, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Support electrical engineering calculations, including load schedules, voltage drop, short-circuit and protection coordination studies where required.
- Assist in preparing electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and technical documentation using CAD software.
- Support the selection and specification of electrical equipment, materials, cables, protection devices, and related components.
- Assist with protective relay settings, electrical system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor electrical installations and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
- Assist in the testing, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Coordinate with other engineers, supervisors, technicians, workers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of works.
- Identify electrical faults, defects, and technical issues and assist in implementing suitable corrective actions.
- Monitor project materials and equipment requirements, including checking inventory, identifying shortages, and assisting with material procurement.
- Assist in monitoring project costs and ensuring electrical works and material usage remain within the allocated budget.
- Maintain proper records of inspection reports, testing and commissioning documents, drawings, equipment information, and other engineering documentation.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and assist in scheduling repairs and servicing of electrical equipment.
- Ensure all electrical works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, workplace safety requirements, quality standards, and relevant codes and regulations.
- Provide technical assistance to other departments and engineering teams when required.
- Participate in technical meetings, toolbox meetings, training, workshops, and other learning activities to develop engineering knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager.
