Description

The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. This position is for an Open Rank, open track. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education. This position will be primarily located at the University of New Mexico Hospital but you will also rotate at our sister hospital in Sandoval County. The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center is the largest academic health complex in the state. HSC combines its four mission areas – education, research, patient care and community outreach – to provide New Mexicans with the highest level of health care. The School of Medicine at HSC is celebrated for its innovations in medical education and has earned a reputation for making diversity in the physician workforce a priority. Our faculty are major contributors to the education of medical students and residents at UNM. As the only academic medical center for the state, only level one trauma center, this is an amazing opportunity for innovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures. Critical care facilities include a 24-bed medical intensive care unit, 24-bed trauma surgical intensive care unit and 24-bed neuroscience intensive care unit but we anticipate moving into the new Critical Care Tower with a total of 96 ICU beds in 2025.
