OPERATION MANAGER
Job Description
- Oversee and manage the overall daily cleaning operations across multiple assigned sites, including hotels, supermarkets, restaurants, nursing homes, and other commercial premises.
- Plan, coordinate, and allocate manpower to ensure all sites are adequately staffed and operational requirements are met.
- Manage and supervise cleaning supervisors, team leaders, and cleaning staff to ensure work is carried out efficiently and according to company and client requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure cleaning, hygiene, safety, and service quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Develop and implement effective cleaning procedures, work schedules, and operational plans to improve productivity and service quality.
- Monitor staff attendance, performance, discipline, and productivity, and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop cleaning staff and supervisors on cleaning methods, workplace safety, service standards, and company procedures.
- Handle manpower planning, deployment, replacement, and attendance issues to ensure smooth operations across all sites.
- Monitor the proper use, maintenance, and availability of cleaning equipment, machinery, and cleaning materials.
- Monitor operational costs, manpower requirements, and resource utilisation to ensure operations are carried out efficiently and within budget.
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and management on operational matters, service requirements, complaints, and feedback.
- Attend to client complaints and operational issues promptly and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit operational reports, including manpower, attendance, site inspection, incidents, complaints, and performance reports.
- Identify operational risks, service gaps, and areas for improvement, and recommend suitable solutions to management.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant workplace safety, hygiene, cleaning standards, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support management in implementing company policies, procedures, and business objectives.
- Perform any other operational duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in cleaning operations, facilities management, hospitality, or a related supervisory/management role is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of cleaners, supervisors, or site personnel.
- Strong leadership, organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, workers, and management.
- Able to manage multiple sites and handle manpower and operational issues effectively.
- Responsible, proactive, independent, and able to work under pressure.
- Good understanding of cleaning operations, hygiene standards, workplace safety, and service quality requirements.
- Good knowledge of manpower planning, staff deployment, attendance, and performance management.
- Able to prepare and maintain basic operational reports and documentation.
- Proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and WhatsApp.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Possess a valid driving licence and able to travel between different work sites would be an advantage.
- Candidates with relevant cleaning, facilities management, or operations management experience will be preferred.
