Operation Manager

An Operations Manager in the automotive industry is responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations run efficiently, safely, and profitably. The role focuses on coordinating people, processes, equipment, and resources to meet production or service goals while maintaining high quality standards.
Key responsibilities
1. Showroom & Retail Operations Management
- Daily Workflow Execution: Supervise day-to-day retail operations, ensuring that the showroom floor, vehicle displays, customer greeting areas, and delivery zones are running smoothly.
- Corporate Identity (CI) Compliance: Ensure the operations and sales support teams strictly adhere to global brand Retailer Corporate Identity (CI) standards—covering staff grooming, showroom presentation, and customer service protocols.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: Act as the central bridge between sales, marketing, inventory, finance, and after-sales workshop teams to resolve bottlenecks and elevate customer satisfaction (CSI).
2. Vehicle Logistics, Yard & Supply Chain
- Transport & Delivery Tracking: Coordinate closely with logistics and port/transport teams to manage vehicle delivery schedules safely from distribution hubs or ports to the showroom floor.
- Transit Support & Risk Management: Provide immediate solutions if vehicles encounter breakdowns or issues during transit. Oversee and file insurance claims for any incidents involving transit or demonstration vehicles.
- Stock & Yard Control: Monitor vehicle yard stock, handling processes, pre-delivery inspections (PDI), and accurate inventory turns.3. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Homologation & Licensing: Review and forward vehicle homologation papers, local registration documents, and compliance paperwork to internal regulatory departments or the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).
- Safety & Facility Standards: Ensure the showroom environment complies with local labor laws, workplace safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
4. Team Leadership & Performance Monitoring
- Staff Supervision & Training: Lead operations, administrative, and frontline support teams; establish shift schedules, evaluate performance, and coach team members on customer service handling.
- KPI Tracking: Monitor operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)—such as delivery turnaround times, service process efficiency, and inventory accuracy—and report regular updates to upper management.
Background and experience
1. Education & Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Additional training or certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or automotive quality management systems are considered an advantage.
2. Experience
- Industry Experience: 3 years+ of progressive management experience in automotive operations, retail dealership environments, or vehicle supply chain/logistics.
- Hands-on Knowledge: Proven track record in overseeing both frontline retail sales operations and backend after-sales services.
3. Core Technical & Operational Competencies
- Dealership Standards & CI: Familiarity with global brand Retailer Corporate Identity (CI) standards, staff presentation guidelines, and showroom presentation protocols.
- Logistics & Homologation: Good understanding of vehicle import/transport logistics, safe yard management, insurance claims processing, and basic regulatory or vehicle homologation procedures with local institutions.
- Process Optimization: Ability to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turns, stock management, customer satisfaction scores (CSI), and operational efficiency.
- Systems Proficiency: Strong computer literacy, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, inventory trackers, and MS Office suite.
4. Soft Skills & Languages
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams (sales consultants, customer service reps, logistics handlers, and administrative staff).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, coordination, and problem-solving skills to manage daily client escalations or transit issues.
- Language Proficiency:
- Professional fluency in both Khmer and English is mandatory.
- Professional fluency in Korean/Chinese is an advantage
