ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Leadership
· Provide temporary management oversight of residential programs during vacancies, leaves of absence, and other staffing transitions.
· Maintain operational continuity and regulatory compliance within assigned programs.
· Assess program performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Assist Residential Coordinators and Assistant Directors in resolving operational challenges.
· Support implementation of agency initiatives, policies, and best practices.
Program Start-Up and Transition Support
· Assist with the development and opening of new residential programs.
· Coordinate pre-opening activities including staffing, training, regulatory readiness, documentation systems, and environmental preparation.
· Ensure new programs meet agency, DDS, licensing, and certification requirements.
· Support transitions of individuals into new residential settings.
Training and Staff Development
· Provide coaching and mentoring to Residential Coordinators, Shift Coordinators, and Direct Support Professionals.
· Facilitate orientation and ongoing training programs.
· Support leadership development among supervisory staff.
· Assist in developing corrective action plans and performance improvement strategies.
· Promote consistency in management practices throughout the residential division.
Staffing and Scheduling Support
· Assist with staffing stabilization efforts across residential programs.
· Support management teams in developing and maintaining effective staffing schedules.
· Monitor staffing patterns and recommend solutions to staffing challenges.
· Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
· Support efforts to reduce overtime and maintain staffing efficiency.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
· Assist programs in maintaining compliance with DDS, Mass Ability, licensing, certification, and agency standards.
· Conduct program reviews and audits to identify compliance concerns and quality improvement opportunities.
· Assist in preparing programs for Survey and Certification reviews.
· Monitor implementation of corrective action plans.
· Support incident management, investigations, and follow-up activities as assigned.
Communication and Collaboration
· Maintain effective communication with Residential Directors, Coordinators and all ancillary departments.
· Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and special projects.
· Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and person-centered service delivery.
On-Call Responsibilities
· Participate in the agency's management on-call rotation.
· Provide guidance and support during emergencies, staffing crises, and critical incidents.
· Respond to urgent operational needs as required.
Other Duties
· Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Residential Director.
· Must obtain and keep current PABC, MAP and other training that support the needs of the program.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of five years of progressive experience in residential human services.
· Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience.
· Experience with DDS regulations, Survey & Certification requirements, MAP regulations, and person-centered service delivery.
· Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, coach staff, and resolve operational challenges.
Preferred Skills
· Strong organizational and project management abilities.
· Experience opening new residential programs or supporting organizational growth initiatives.
· Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and rapidly changing operational needs
· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
