Operational Purchaser

Would you like to play an important role within our Purchasing department? Inventory is an essential part of our business operations. Both excess inventory and insufficient stock can cause problems. You ensure optimal inventory levels. In the role of Operational Purchaser, you are responsible for your own product category and ensure that the products in our range remain continuously available.

Reach your full potential as an Operational Purchaser

As an Operational Purchaser, you are responsible for monitoring our inventory levels on a daily basis. You know when to place orders and in what quantities, while taking product shelf life and fluctuations in sales into account. You also monitor the stock levels and expiry dates of previously ordered products, helping to prevent products from going out of stock.

Communication is crucial in this role, both internally with your colleagues and externally with suppliers. This means keeping Purchase Managers, Stock Control Managers, Logistics and Sales informed in a timely manner. You work closely with the Finance department to discuss invoices and payments. Externally, you are in contact with suppliers regarding ongoing orders, product availability and developments within the product segment.

This is you

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and maintain good relationships with our suppliers. You work in a structured and accurate manner. You process orders relating to your product range and ensure that all administrative records are kept up to date. You continuously look for ways to improve processes within your category, department or the wider organisation. Every day, you strive to achieve the best possible results. In this role, you can combine your communication and service-oriented skills with your analytical abilities.

You:

  • Are available to work 32–40 hours per week;
  • Have completed a vocational qualification in a commercial or administrative field;
  • Are confident and have excellent communication skills;
  • Have strong analytical skills and are naturally good at planning and organising;
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment;
  • Have a good command of English, both spoken and written. Dutch is considered an advantage.
