About the role

Within the Risk Management Directorate of VidaCaixa, the Non-Financial Risks function incorporates Operational Risk management with the objective of strengthening the company's resilience against internal errors, operational incidents, emerging risks, and external events that may affect the business.

The purpose of this discipline is to comprehensively manage operational risk, covering its identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting. Likewise, it contributes to driving a preventive culture and a risk vision integrated into the company's strategic processes, products, and projects.

In this context, the function addresses, among others, the following areas:

  • Operational losses and root cause analysis.
  • Operational risk associated with business processes.
  • Risks in products and new developments.
  • Risks derived from strategic projects and corporate transformations.
  • Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), RAF metrics, and risk appetite monitoring.
  • Preventive actions and continuous process improvement.
  • Emerging risks and sector trends.
  • Operational resilience and coordination with the rest of the non-financial risk disciplines.

We are looking to hire an Operational Risk Manager with an interest in understanding how the business works and contributing to reinforcing the company's resilience. The position offers a transversal vision, with participation in strategic initiatives, new products, and key processes, allowing you to learn firsthand how the insurance business works and how risk management decisions are made.

We are addressing both professionals with experience in risk management and profiles from operational areas of the insurance business who wish to evolve towards a transversal function with a global vision of the organization.

We especially value knowledge of insurance processes, analytical capacity, and an orientation toward continuous improvement.

Among their main functions and responsibilities are:

  • Definition, calculation, and monitoring of operational risk indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite metrics.
  • Analysis of operational losses, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participation in strategic projects, transformation initiatives, and new developments, evaluating the associated operational risks.
  • Participation in the assessment of operational risks associated with new products, relevant modifications, and periodic review processes.
  • Collaboration with business areas in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
  • Participation in periodic risk assessments and scenario analysis.
  • Preparation of executive reporting for committees and governing bodies.
  • Monitoring of emerging risks and contribution to the continuous improvement of management methodologies and tools.
