Operations and Maintenance Manager

Reports to the General Manager

  • The Operations & Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the KMTR concession assets. The role ensures optimal asset performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service quality, and operational excellence. The O&M Manager acts as a trusted business partner to the General Manager, supporting operational and strategic decision-making while ensuring compliance with shareholder requirements, applicable regulations, and corporate governance standards.
  • The O&M Manager oversees all operational and maintenance activities and O&M staff across the concession, including the toll road, border posts and associated infrastructure, operational facilities. The role ensures asset availability, regulatory compliance, and continuous operational improvement.

Operations Management :

  • Ensure safe and efficient daily operation of the concession.
  • Monitor operational performance and service quality.
  • Develop operational procedures and performance standards.

Asset Maintenance :

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Optimize asset lifecycle and availability.
  • Manage maintenance contractors and technical service providers.

HSE:

  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and operational procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across operations.

Performance Management:

  • Monitor operational KPIs and maintenance performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage operational budgets and maintenance costs.

People Leadership:

  • Lead, coach and develop the O&M Teams in Zambia and DRC.
  • Foster a strong culture of accountability, safety and inclusion.
  • Drive succession planning and talent development.

We are seeking an experienced operations leader with a strong background in infrastructure asset management and maintenance within complex operational environments.

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Proven experience managing highways, transport infrastructure, mining infrastructure, or industrial assets.
  • Experience in Central Africa, preferably in the DRC and/or Zambia.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
