About the Role
Guardteck is seeking an Area Operations Manager / Mobile Supervisor to provide operational leadership and field supervision across an assigned portfolio of client sites.
This is a hybrid position combining area-level operational oversight with hands-on mobile supervision. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on supporting area operations, staffing, employee performance, client service, and operational coordination, while the remaining 50% will focus on mobile supervision, site visits, inspections, employee support, and responding to operational needs in the field.
Key Responsibilities
50% — Area Operations Management
Support Area Operations
Support the Regional Operations Manager with the day-to-day management of an assigned portfolio of client sites.
Monitor operational performance and identify staffing, service, employee, and client concerns.
Ensure employees follow Guardteck policies, procedures, post orders, and client requirements.
Review security reports, incident reports, daily updates, and operational trends.
Identify recurring operational issues and recommend practical solutions.
Conduct operational follow-ups and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Support the implementation of operational initiatives and process improvements.
Provide regular updates to the Regional Operations Manager regarding site performance, staffing concerns, employee issues, and operational risks.
Assist with new site launches, contract expansions, temporary sites, and ad hoc operational requirements.
Staffing, Scheduling & Dispatch Support
Monitor staffing requirements across assigned sites and proactively identify coverage gaps.
Work closely with Dispatch to support open shifts, book-offs, call-ins, and urgent coverage requirements.
Review Shiftboard and WinTeam to ensure schedules and assignments are accurate.
Contact qualified employees when additional coverage is required.
Support longer-term staffing solutions to improve consistency and reduce turnover.
Help identify employees suitable for permanent, extended, or additional assignments.
Support staffing plans for new contracts, special events, temporary sites, and increased service requirements.
Employee Support & Performance
Provide coaching and operational guidance to frontline employees and supervisors.
Support the Regional Operations Manager with employee performance and attendance concerns.
Identify training, coaching, and development opportunities.
Recognize strong employee performance and contribute to employee engagement and retention.
Support incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
Client & Account Management Support
Work closely with Account Managers to support consistent service delivery.
Keep Account Managers informed of staffing changes, site concerns, incidents, and operational developments.
Ensure client expectations and operational requirements are clearly communicated to supervisors and frontline employees.
Support Account Managers with site-level operational solutions and service improvements.
Operational Administration & Reporting
Review WinTeam scheduling and employee hours for accuracy.
Support payroll corrections and employee-related administrative requests.
Maintain accurate operational records and follow-up items.
Review operational reports and identify trends requiring attention.
Provide timely updates and documentation to the Regional Operations Manager.
50% — Mobile Supervisor
Mobile Field Supervision
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled mobile visits across assigned client sites.
Perform regular site inspections to ensure security operations are being delivered according to Guardteck and client standards.
Conduct employee check-ins and provide hands-on support to guards and supervisors.
Verify employees are properly positioned, uniformed, equipped, and performing assigned duties.
Review post orders and ensure site-specific requirements are being followed.
Identify and report site deficiencies, employee concerns, safety issues, and operational risks.
Complete site inspection reports and document findings accurately.
Follow up on deficiencies identified during previous visits.
Employee & Supervisor Support
Provide on-site guidance and coaching to security guards and Site Supervisors.
Assist employees with operational questions and site-related concerns.
Support supervisors with difficult situations, staffing challenges, and employee issues.
Reinforce Guardteck policies, procedures, and client expectations.
Assist with onboarding and orientation of employees at new or existing sites.
Support employees during periods of operational change or increased client requirements.
Escalate serious employee performance or conduct concerns to the Regional Operations Manager.
Site Audits & Quality Control
Conduct regular site audits and inspections.
Verify compliance with post orders, uniforms, equipment, access control, patrol requirements, and other site expectations.
Review site documentation and employee records when required.
Monitor recurring deficiencies and communicate trends to the Regional Operations Manager and Account Managers.
Ensure corrective actions are completed and verified through follow-up visits.
Equipment, Keys & Operational Assets
Distribute and collect uniforms, keys, mobile devices, and other operational equipment when required.
Ensure company equipment is properly maintained and used responsibly.
Report lost, damaged, or missing equipment.
Support the management of operational vehicles and mobile devices assigned to the area.
Report vehicle maintenance, GPS, dashcam, or other fleet concerns to the appropriate team.
What You Bring
Experience in security operations, mobile supervision, site supervision, or multi-site operations.
Previous experience leading or supervising security guards and frontline employees.
Strong understanding of security operations, staffing, scheduling, and site requirements.
Strong leadership and employee-coaching skills.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to make sound decisions independently and under pressure.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Comfortable working both independently in the field and collaboratively with Operations leadership.
Comfortable using scheduling, workforce management, reporting, and operational systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
Valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle with clear Driver's abstract.
Assets
Previous experience as a Mobile Supervisor, Field Supervisor, Security Supervisor, or Operations Supervisor.
Experience supporting multi-site security operations.
Experience with WinTeam, Shiftboard, PosiTrace, Dayforce, Lighthouse, ATS, or similar systems.
Experience with contract launches, special events, temporary sites, or ad hoc security operations.
Experience with fleet, mobile devices, keys, uniforms, and operational equipment management.
Diploma or degree in Business, Security Management, Justice Studies, Operations Management, or a related field.
