Role Overview
The Operations Data Analyst serves as the central data hub and primary point of contact for data requests across the company. Reporting directly to the Operational Systems Lead, this role is responsible for:
mastering our full suite of internal reports
fulfilling inbound data requests with speed and precision
converting raw exports into clean, pre-mined, and actionable insights.
By working closely with the Operations and Accounts teams, you will build standardized data templates, streamline reporting workflows, and ensure teams across the business get the exact intelligence they need without wasting valuable time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Request Fulfillment & Internal Facilitation
Central Point of Contact: Act as the primary interface for all internal departments seeking operational, financial, and performance data.
Rapid SLA Execution: Triage, export, and fulfill ad-hoc data requests promptly within strict, short-turnaround windows.
Data Treatment & Hygiene: Clean, reformat, and validate raw data exports to guarantee immediate usability and high data accuracy.
Value-Add "Pre-Mining": Overlay operational context onto raw data—highlighting key trends, variances, and summary takeaways—so recipients receive ready-to-use intelligence rather than raw tables.
2. Report Suite Mastery & Advisory
System Expertise: Develop an end-to-end understanding of the company’s entire suite of existing reports, dashboards, and underlying databases.
Guided Selection: Advise staff on which specific reports or datasets best serve their business questions, preventing duplicate efforts and ensuring data consistency across teams.
User Support: Assist colleagues in navigating existing self-service tools and reporting features.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Template Engineering
Operations & Accounts Alignment: Partner closely with the Accounts and Operations teams to understand their routine workflows, financial metrics, and reporting pain points.
Template Development: Design, deploy, and maintain standardized data templates, models, and recurring reporting formats to minimize manual effort business-wide.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate request patterns to turn high-frequency ad-hoc requests into automated or standardized self-serve templates.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in an Operations Analyst, Data Analyst, or Business Intelligence role.
Data Manipulation Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets ( Pivot Tables, complex formulas, lookup functions)
BI & Systems Aptitude: Direct experience working with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and operational ERP/CRM systems.
Operational & Financial Acumen: Ability to understand operational workflows alongside basic financial/accounting metrics (costs, margins, volumes, utilization).
Synthesis & Communication: Exceptional ability to translate raw numbers into clear narrative summaries and visual key takeaways for non-technical stakeholders.
Key Competencies & Personal Attributes
Bias for Action: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in fast turnaround times without compromising accuracy.
Service Orientation: Patient, approachable, and proactive when helping internal team members solve data problems.
Analytical Curiosity: Instinctively asks, "What does this data mean for the recipient, and how can I save them time interpreting it?"
High Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data auditing, ensuring figures tie out accurately across templates and system exports.
