Operations Excellence Manager - Revenue Cycle Management
The Operations Excellence Manager - Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for supporting strategic and operational improvements across the revenue cycle with a primary focus on accelerating cash collections, increasing cash velocity, reducing revenue leakage, and improving overall financial performance. This role serves as a key operational and analytical partner to Revenue Cycle leadership and frontline teams. The Operations Excellence Manager leverages data, analytics, and process improvement methodologies to identify performance trends, uncover root causes, prioritize opportunities, and lead initiatives that deliver measurable operational and financial results. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management and does not initially have direct reports.
This position will report to the Vice President, Revenue Cycle Management and if not local to the Des Moines, IA area, can work remotely with required occasional travel as needed.
Salary range: $120,000-135,000 plus 15% bonus
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Revenue Cycle Performance & Analytics: Monitor KPIs, identify trends, conduct root-cause analysis, and provide actionable recommendations
- Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve collections, reduce aging, optimize workflows, and enhance efficiency
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution: Partner with leaders, supervisors, billers, and stakeholders to drive accountability and results
- Payer Performance & Escalation Management: Resolve reimbursement barriers, manage payer escalations, and improve reimbursement performance
- Reporting & Executive Communication: Develop reporting, dashboards, and executive-level performance summaries
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years’ progressive Revenue Cycle Management experience
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
- Experience analyzing large data sets and driving measurable operational improvements
- Strong project leadership, communication, and influencing skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Power BI skills
- Prior leadership or management experience
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
