Operations Lead

Open 40d posting dated last week

Summary

Supports HR operations, office administration, and employee experience in a fast-growing life sciences startup, managing onboarding, benefits, events, and workflows.

Why you should join us

Solstice is redefining how life sciences organizations commercialize their products. We are building a commercial engine that allows pharmaceutical marketers to take control of their content supply chain and launch campaigns at 100x the speed.

  • Rapid growth: Over the past year, we have partnered with some of the top life sciences manufacturers and now support 25+ pharma brands.

  • Frontiers of technology: We build applications at the frontier of AI, experimenting with LLMs and new frameworks to redefine what is possible in pharmaceutical marketing.

  • Top-tier investors: We have raised from Transformation Capital, Twelve Below, Virtue, and the founders of Datavant, Commure, and Paradigm to supercharge our growth and build an elite team of engineers and operators.

Building anything great requires commitment and dedication. We are looking for people with the fire to prove others wrong 🚀

About the role

We are looking for someone to build the operational infrastructure that lets Solstice scale: the systems, processes, and foundations the whole company runs on. You will own people operations, office operations, and administrative excellence end to end, but the real mandate is bigger: figure out what the company needs to operate at 10x its current size, then go build it.

You will work shoulder to shoulder with our commercial and engineering teams and our founding team, translating how those teams actually work into the infrastructure that supports them. You will touch nearly every function (commercial, engineering, recruiting, finance) and you will be the person who spots where the company is about to outgrow itself and gets ahead of it.

What you will be working on

  • Own the employee lifecycle. Run onboarding for every new hire (equipment, workspace, benefits, and equity (Carta) setup and make sure people actually understand their equity and benefits, not just receive them.

  • Own the benefits relationship. Be the point of contact employees call with questions, assess where the gaps are, and lead benefits and compensation benchmarking and planning, including FSA and medical administration.

  • Own the performance review process end to end. Administer the system, guide managers on review plans and KPI development, and keep improving the cadence each cycle.

  • Build the systems the company runs on. Administer and connect the platforms behind the business and manage access and subscriptions.

  • Build alongside commercial and engineering. Work directly with the teams closest to our clients and our product to understand how they operate, then design the operational infrastructure (tooling, processes, and workflows) that lets them move faster. The best ideas for what to build come from sitting next to the people doing the work.

  • Lead office administration and culture. Own facilities, vendor relationships, supplies, events, and snacks; own the prep and logistics of company all-hands (agenda, decks, coordination); and plan and execute offsites, summer events, and office moves.

  • Own compliance and policy. Maintain and update the employee handbook and company policies so they stay clear and compliant as we grow.

  • Partner on finance and IT. Collaborate with leadership on expense policies, Ramp card management, and process improvements, and coordinate IT needs alongside our IT lead so tech onboarding and troubleshooting are seamless.

  • Own one internal workstream. At Solstice, we believe in being a jack of all trades; the people who do well are those who aspire to live outside the box. You will spearhead an area of your own: supporting recruiting and the future scaling of our recruiting operations, or any other internal initiative of interest.

Some ideal traits we are looking for

  • Operator mentality. You love building, improving, and streamlining processes in fast-paced environments.

  • Systems thinking. You see the infrastructure a growing company needs before it needs it, and you build for scale rather than patching for today.

  • Cross-functional fluency. You can bring together commercial, engineering, and leadership stakeholders and turn how they work into systems that serve them.

  • Unreal organizational skills. You can manage complex workflows without dropping a thread.

  • Bias to action. You are proactive and detail-oriented, and you solve problems before they land on someone else's desk.

  • Presence and communication. You are credible with senior stakeholders and have excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Systems fluency. You are comfortable across common productivity and HR tools (Rippling) and quick to learn new ones.

  • High work ethic and drive. You are hungry to build something great and have an exceptional work ethic.

You do not need to have run operations at a startup before. We would rather teach the systems to someone with judgment and ownership than teach ownership to someone with the systems.

About the role

We are in person five days a week in our NYC office, and we work hard because we believe that is what building something exceptional requires. In exchange, you get outsized ownership, a steep growth curve, and a team that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously.

Compensation

  • $100-150k base + competitive equity

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 401(k) with 4% company match

  • Visa sponsorship (O-1, H-1B, TN) available

  • Relocation support

  • Meals, transportation, and daily logistics support so you can focus

  • Work in a high-velocity, high-impact environment
