The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in all areas of branch operations to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This position supports operational planning, business development, inventory and distribution activities, customer relationships, and overall branch performance while working closely with the Regional Manager, Branch Manager, suppliers, sales teams, and other departments.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess local market conditions, identify current and prospective sales opportunities, and develop forecasts, financial objectives, and business plans for the branch.

• Recommend changes to branch and organizational policies and goals as appropriate.

• Assist the Regional Manager and Branch Manager in developing branch and organizational objectives.

• Address customer satisfaction issues promptly and professionally.

• Work closely with the Credit Department to support the extension and enforcement of company credit policies.

• Support the achievement of profitability goals and objectives for the branch and organization.

• Maintain an understanding of branch accountability for revenue, margins, product mix, and market share objectives.

• Manage and grow existing distribution accounts from an operations level.

• Analyze business data and trends to identify opportunities and develop value added programs.

• Assist in creating and implementing programs designed to increase sales and improve margins.

• Participate in operations meetings and prepare required reports.

• Work collaboratively with area suppliers, Sales Directors, and manufacturers' representative organizations.

• Continue developing knowledge of industry trends, products, management practices, and financial disciplines.

• Follow company policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Education and Experience

• High school diploma required.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position preferred.

• Minimum of three years of progressive experience preferred.

• Four years of experience in a similar or progressive position preferred.

• Product and application experience required.

• Experience monitoring the marketplace and identifying business opportunities preferred.

• Demonstrated success meeting branch sales goals and growing sales preferred.

• Experience with profit and loss management preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the branch, warehouse, and office environment as needed.

• Ability to walk through warehouse and distribution areas.

• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, climb, and reach as required.

• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials or products as required.

• Ability to safely work in an office, warehouse, and branch environment.
