We’re looking for an Operations Manager, ANZ to build and run the domestic operational backbone of the tonies® business – retailer connectivity, warehouse and freight, systems and order-to-cash processing – ensuring the business runs smoothly on the ground in Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Senior Sales & Operations Manager, tonies ANZ, you will own the domestic operations of the ANZ business – establishing and managing Direct to Retail relationships, warehouse connectivity, ERP integrations and local order and invoicing processes – working closely with the Demand Planner to turn forecasts and stock plans into smooth day-to-day execution.
This is a hands-on operations role – part systems builder, part negotiator, part process owner – ideal for a traditional operations professional who enjoys standing up new local infrastructure and keeping it running reliably in a lean, fast-moving start-up environment. Direct to Retail Relationships
- Establish and manage Direct to Retail (DTR) trading relationships and operational onboarding for new retail customers.
- Own day-to-day operational contact with retailers on order flow, compliance requirements and service issues.
- Negotiate and manage vendor/trading terms relevant to operations, in partnership with Sales and
- Finance.
- Establish and manage warehouse connectivity and 3PL relationships, ensuring accurate, timely receipt, storage and dispatch of stock.
- Lead domestic freight and warehouse contract negotiations, managing rates, service levels and performance against agreed KPIs.
- Monitor day-to-day warehouse and freight performance, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement in cost and service.
Systems & ERP Integration
- Lead local ERP integrations with warehouse, freight and retailer systems (EDI, portals, order and
- inventory feeds).
- Own local PO processing end-to-end, ensuring orders are entered, validated and fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Set up and maintain ERP invoicing processes, ensuring invoicing is accurate, timely and aligned to retailer requirements.
- Maintain clean master data and operational configuration within the ERP to
- support scalable local operations.
Collaboration with Demand Planning
- Work closely with the Demand Planner to translate forecasts and inventory plans into day-to-day operational execution.
- Share warehouse, freight and retailer operational insights that inform demand and replenishment planning.
- Jointly manage stock availability issues, order exceptions and retailer escalations with the Demand Planner.
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Customer Service and E-commerce in ANZ to keep operations aligned to business priorities.
- Build and document standard operating procedures for local order, warehouse and invoicing processes as the ANZ business scales.
- Champion a test-and-learn, start-up mindset in a lean team environment.
- 5+ years’ experience in operations management, warehouse/logistics management or supply chain operations (consumer electronics, toys, FMCG or adjacent).
- Proven experience establishing and managing Direct to Retail relationships and retailer operational compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g. Business Central, SAP or similar), including PO
- processing, invoicing setup and system integrations.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating domestic freight and warehouse contracts, rates and service levels.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and 3PL management within Australia and/or New
- Zealand.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable working closely with Sales, Finance and Demand Planning.
