Aureos are seeking an Electrical Regional Operations Manager to work with us in Tiptree /Bury St Edmonds, Tilbury, with travel across operational sites.

The Electrical Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of electrical operations across a defined geographical region.

The role provides strategic and operational leadership within a growing 10-million-pound business across multiple projects, contracts and teams, ensuring that works are delivered to the required standards for health and safety, quality, programme, customer satisfaction and financial performance.

The position will typically have responsibility for multiple electrical projects and operational teams, ranging from LV and HV installations through to infrastructure, utilities, industrial, commercial, renewable-energy or construction projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Operational Management

• Lead day-to-day electrical operations across the region.
• Manage multiple projects, contracts and operational teams simultaneously.
• Ensure projects are adequately resourced with competent personnel, plant, materials and equipment.
• Monitor programme performance and ensure operational targets are achieved.
• Establish consistent working practices and standards across the region.
• Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation.
• Support mobilisation of new contracts and projects.
• Develop regional operational strategies and improvement plans.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain a strong safety-first culture throughout regional operations.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation, company policies and industry standards.
• Ensure appropriate RAMS, permits, isolations and Safe Systems of Work are implemented.
• Where HV operations are involved, ensure appropriate Authorised Person / Senior Authorised Person arrangements are in place.
• Lead and participate in safety audits, inspections and investigations.
• Ensure electrical work is undertaken by suitably trained and competent personnel.
• Monitor and improve safety performance, including near-miss and incident reporting.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Take responsibility for regional operational budgets and financial performance.
• Monitor project costs, labour utilisation, plant, materials and subcontractor expenditure.
• Work closely with commercial teams on variations, change control and contractual issues.
• Review project forecasts and identify potential cost overruns.
• Support tendering and estimating teams with operational input.
• Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved margins.
• Ensure accurate reporting of regional financial and operational performance.

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, develop and motivate regional electrical teams.
• Set clear performance expectations and objectives.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and development planning.
• Identify training and competency requirements.
• Develop succession plans for key operational positions.
• Promote professional standards and strong workforce engagement.
• Manage employee relations issues in conjunction with HR.

Project & Client Management

• Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Attend project and client review meetings where required.
• Ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered.
• Resolve operational issues and escalate significant commercial or contractual matters.
• Support business development and future opportunities within the region.
• Represent the company professionally with clients, consultants, principal contractors and other stakeholders.

Quality & Technical Assurance

• Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant specifications and standards.
• Monitor quality performance across projects.
• Ensure inspection and testing requirements are met.
• Review technical issues and coordinate with engineering and design teams.
• Ensure appropriate commissioning, handover and documentation processes are completed.
• Drive continuous improvement and lessons-learned processes.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Recognised electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Significant experience within electrical contracting, construction, utilities, infrastructure or engineering.
• Proven experience managing electrical projects and operational teams.
• Strong understanding of UK electrical legislation and industry standards.
• Demonstrable experience managing budgets and commercial performance.
• Experience working across multiple projects or geographical locations.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and electrical Safe Systems of Work.
• Strong leadership and people-management experience.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management or a related discipline.
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
• SMSTS / equivalent management qualification.
• Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM.
• IOSH Managing Safely.
• HV Authorisation / SAP experience where applicable.
• Temporary Works, CDM or relevant construction-management qualifications.
