Operations Manager, BSV

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day manufacturing operations of the Sharonville and Lebanon facilities. This position directly manages employees across both locations and is accountable for establishing work priorities, maintaining appropriate staffing, managing employee performance, and ensuring production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established quality and delivery expectations. This role provides hands-on leadership to the workforce by communicating expectations, assigning and monitoring work, coaching and developing employees, addressing performance and conduct concerns, and creating an accountable and productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage daily manufacturing, production, quality, safety, and operational activities at the Sharonville and Lebanon facilities.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor employee work based on production priorities, staffing levels, deadlines, and operational needs.
  • Maintain a visible presence in production areas and communicate regularly with employees regarding assignments, expectations, safety, and performance.
  • Establish clear standards for attendance, conduct, productivity, quality, teamwork, and safety, and hold employees accountable for meeting those expectations.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, evaluate, and develop employees in coordination with Human Resources and company leadership.
  • Address employee performance, attendance, conduct, workplace concerns, and conflicts promptly, consistently, and with appropriate documentation.
  • Administer coaching, corrective action, and discipline in accordance with company policies and in coordination with Human Resources when appropriate.
  • Identify employee training and development needs and ensure employees are properly prepared to perform their assigned responsibilities.
  • Create, adjust, and communicate production schedules, staffing plans, and work priorities.
  • Communicate schedule changes, staffing concerns, production delays, resource needs, and operational risks to the Director of Operations and other appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate information and workflow between production employees, management, sales, quality, and supporting functions.
  • Monitor performance against established safety, quality, labor, cost, productivity, and delivery goals and take corrective action when needed.
  • Identify staffing, equipment, tooling, material, and process needs required to support efficient operations.
  • Develop and improve production procedures, workflows, equipment usage, and operating methods.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, workplace organization, productivity, and efficient use of labor and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, production requirements, and housekeeping expectations.
  • Review and approve employee time and attendance records and correct labor-reporting inaccuracies in HRIS system.
  • Leverage the ERP system to facilitate cost accounting and variance accounting analysis.
  • Maintain accurate operational, staffing, production, performance and timekeeping records.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in operations, manufacturing, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Five years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience preferred.
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing employees, including hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations, attendance management, and corrective action.
  • Experience with production scheduling, labor planning, employee performance management, and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead employees across two facilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic timekeeping or production systems; Paycom experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between the Sharonville and Lebanon locations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, bending, reaching and climbing.
  • Warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas.
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves and steel-toed boots.
  • May involve occasional travel between local and/or out of state sites.
