Operations Manager
Turbine Services Limited (TSL) is a global independent service provider for owners and operators of industrial and aero-derivative gas turbines, offering replacement parts, repairs and depot services for Frame 5, Frame 6, Frame 9 engines as well as aero-derivative units such as the LM2500 and LM6000. TSL operates from a 22,000 sq. ft. facility that combines strategic warehousing, engineering and office space under one roof. TSL is part of Chromalloy, a global leader in aftermarket engineering and manufacturing solutions for the aviation, defense and energy sectors, and is central to Chromalloy's strategy to grow independent land-based turbine refurbishment services.
POSITION SUMMARY
This onsite leadership role is accountable for driving operational excellence across IGT and Aeroderivative gas turbine service and repair activities. This position owns the end-to-end operational strategy, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while enabling growth in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Director is responsible for the day-to-day running of TSL's Glasgow facility, ensuring that engine and component repair, overhaul operations are delivered safely, on time, to quality standard and within budget. The role leads the workshop and field service planning and execution. He/she will drive operational performance and continuous improvement, and acts as the key operational point of contact between the shop floor and the General Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage day-to-day operations across the workshop, warehousing and field service functions at the Glasgow facility, including use of the on-site 10-ton crane for turbine and hot-section exchanges.
Own the production schedule for PGT25 High Speed Power Turbine (HSPT) and LM6000 Hot Section overhauls, balancing customer turnaround commitments against capacity, parts availability and workforce planning.
Ensure all operational activity complies with Health & Safety legislation and TSL/Chromalloy EHS policy; lead site safety culture, incident investigation and corrective action.
Maintain compliance with relevant quality and regulatory standards for turbine repair/overhaul work; support internal and customer audits.
Recruit, develop and performance-manage supervisors and shop-floor staff; build a strong, engaged operations team.
Own the operations budget/cost base for the site, identifying and delivering cost and efficiency improvements.
Drive continuous improvement (lean/5S/root-cause problem solving) across workshop and warehouse processes.
Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain and Customer Solutions to ensure operational plans align with customer commitments and TSL's growth objectives.
Report operational KPIs (safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost, capacity utilization) to the General Manager TSL.
Support integration of new capability and facility expansion as TSL scales its energy/power services business.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
Proven 10 years’ experience in an operations/production management role within gas turbine, aerospace, energy, or heavy industrial MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) environments.
Track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams (workshop, warehouse, planning) in a regulated engineering environment.
Experience managing budgets, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
Familiarity with industrial or aero-derivative gas turbines (e.g., Frame 5/6/9, LM2500) is highly desirable.
