Operations Manager - Company Canteen
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our company canteen. The canteen serves not only our employees but also external customers, requiring strong operational management, foodservice expertise, and customer service excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, safety, and customer satisfaction while driving operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the overall operations of the company canteen, ensuring efficient and smooth daily operations.
• Oversee food preparation, service quality, cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace safety incompliance with Singapore food safety regulations.
• Plan, organize, and supervise canteen staff, including scheduling, performance management, training, and development.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, inventory levels, and cost management to minimize wastage and maximize operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement of quality ingredients and supplies.
• Handle customer feedback, complaints, and service recovery promptly and professionally.
• Prepare operational reports, budgets, sales analysis, and performance reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including food hygiene, workplace safety, and licensing requirements.
• Work closely with internal departments to support company events and catering requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, increase revenue, and enhance operational productivity.
• Communicate regularly and report operational performance to senior management.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management, Food &Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing a company canteen, industrial kitchen, food court, or large-scale food service operation.
• Proven experience managing food service operations that cater to both employees and external customers.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations in Singapore.
• Strong budgeting, inventory control, and cost management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple operational priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Possession of Food Safety or WSQ Food Hygiene-related certifications will be an advantage.
• Experience in implementing continuous improvement or productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment will be an added advantage.
