The Company:

assembly – a Czarnowski Collective studio - inspires brands to rethink the possibilities of short-term design with temporary spaces that leave a lasting impression. From pop-up pods in parking lots, to large complexes free from existing spatial restrictions, assembly offers modular, scalable, customizable solutions for every brand and experience.

Joining the Czarnowski Collective means the opportunity to be more than a number, more than a job title, more than a spectator. We are a collective of dreamers and thinkers, doers, and makers…and we’re searching for more of the same to join the ranks.

The Purpose:

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our growing team! As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading the operational foundation that powers Assembly's success. You'll ensure every project is set up for seamless execution, from initial planning and resource allocation through installation, dismantle, return, reset, and continuous improvement. You will oversee operational readiness, asset deployment, field standards, labor and freight planning, vendor coordination, and the ongoing operationalization of Spacecube solutions, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, consistently, and profitably.

In this role, you'll do much more than solve daily operational challenges. You'll create and strengthen the processes, systems, and disciplines that allow Assembly to scale effectively. By building a repeatable operating model, you'll help reduce reliance on senior leadership intervention, empower teams to execute with confidence, and drive operational excellence across the organization. Your work will directly influence Assembly's ability to grow, improve performance, and deliver exceptional results for clients and partners alike.

The Job:

Operational Planning and Readiness

  • Own overall operational readiness across Assembly projects.
  • Translate awarded work and qualified pipeline into labor, field supervision, equipment, trucking, vendor, asset, Spacecube, interiors, and yard / warehouse requirements.
  • Lead operational planning for active projects, upcoming mobilizations, and known project risks.
  • Ensure operational requirements are identified early enough to influence estimating, pricing, scheduling, and client commitments.
  • Establish and maintain practical readiness gates for mobilization, including scope, assets, labor, equipment, freight, drawings, site access, client expectations, and known-risk ownership.
  • Identify capacity constraints before they affect client experience, margin, safety, project schedule, or execution quality.

Operational Feasibility and Preproduction Support

  • Provide operational and technical input during opportunity qualification, estimating, site planning, build methodology, logistics planning, and preproduction.
  • Lead operational feasibility review for larger, unusual, complex, compressed-schedule, Spacecube, new-client, or higher-risk opportunities.
  • Identify execution risks before Assembly makes commitments that could create avoidable cost, margin, schedule, safety, or client-experience issues.
  • Partner with Project Management to ensure final project plans reflect realistic labor, asset, freight, site, vendor, and field assumptions.
  • Support estimating with operational assumptions, vendor pricing, labor planning, logistics input, and known execution requirements.

Assets, Inventory, and Fleet Readiness

  • Maintain oversight of structure and equipment inventory, including readiness, maintenance, tracking, deployment, return, inspection, repair, and utilization.
  • Ensure assets are properly prepared before deployment and properly inspected, documented, cleaned, repaired, and reset after return.
  • Improve visibility into available, reserved, deployed, returning, damaged, maintenance, and future-available inventory.
  • Support asset-allocation decisions using revenue, margin, schedule, freight, labor, strategic account value, repeatability, and opportunity cost.
  • Manage Spacecube units as a fleet, including deployment history, condition, location, maintenance, repairs, modifications, availability, and future reservation.

Field Execution and Standards

  • Establish clear field standards, installation expectations, site conduct requirements, safety expectations, quality expectations, and escalation paths.
  • Support field supervisors before and during mobilization so crews receive clear project information before arriving on site.
  • Resolve technical, logistical, resource, or field-execution issues that arise during project execution.
  • Improve repeatability in installation, dismantle, return, inspection, refurbishment, and redeployment.
  • Lead post-project operational reviews and convert lessons learned into improved standards, estimates, processes, and future execution plans.

Spacecube Operationalization

  • Lead the operational integration of Spacecube in the United States.
  • Develop repeatable procedures for Spacecube transportation, storage, installation, placement, leveling, lifting, interiors integration, utility coordination, dismantle, inspection, maintenance, repair, reset, and redeployment.
  • Coordinate training, field standards, vendor support, asset tracking, maintenance routines, and project-readiness requirements for Spacecube.
  • Work with Project Management and commercial leadership to ensure Spacecube is sold, estimated, planned, and executed as a repeatable operating platform rather than as a one-off product.

Vendor, Subcontractor, Labor, and Freight Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate labor, supervisors, equipment, trucking, vendors, subcontractors, and other operational resources.
  • Maintain vendor and subcontractor performance expectations for schedule, scope, pricing, quality, documentation, and communication.
  • Improve labor efficiency, freight planning, equipment planning, vendor performance, and execution consistency.
  • Support field supervisor development through clear expectations, standards, accountability, feedback, and training.

Financial and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Project Management to improve budget accuracy, estimate-to-actual learning, margin visibility, and operational cost control.
  • Lead operational review of labor assumptions, freight costs, equipment costs, site contingencies, vendor pricing, installation durations, dismantle performance, and preventable rework.
  • Identify recurring operational issues and implement process improvements that reduce repeat mistakes.
  • Support project closeout by contributing operational lessons learned, variance explanations, asset-condition information, and process improvements.
  • Work with Project Management and the Managing Director to improve labor efficiency, freight efficiency, asset utilization, vendor performance, and project margin.

The Person:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in operations
  • 3+ years of leadership experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry and leadership experience should be considered
  • Based in the Atlanta, GA area, or willing to be based there; this role requires regular travel and onsite presence when projects require operational leadership
  • Strategic, execution-focused leader with strong business acumen and the ability to balance workforce planning, financial budgets, with commercial priorities / forecasts
  • Highly collaborative and influence-based communicator, able to bridge commercial, operational, financial, and cross-functional teams at scale
  • Data-driven, systems-oriented operator with proven success building scalable processes and implementing enterprise-wide systems
  • Experience managing field operations, logistics, equipment, vendors, and multiple projects
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience in temporary structures, event infrastructure, or other asset-intensive environments strongly preferred

    What we offer:

    • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits effective within 30 days (or less) of your start date
    • 401K matching with no vesting period (you are fully vested as of day 1)
    • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)
    • Paid Holidays
    • Collaborative Work Environment
