Operations Manager
ABOUT US
Green Grid Connect (GGC) is a part of the Gransolar Group, a
globally recognised leader in solar photovoltaic energy and battery storage
systems, with over 20 years of experience. At GGC, we specialise in delivering
cutting-edge solutions across the renewable energy value chain; from
integrating electrical and civil engineering, to the development, construction
and commissioning of renewable projects.
GGC is delivering some of Australia's most significant
renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. With a growing pipeline of
substation, BESS, overhead line and reticulation projects, we're looking for an
experienced Operations Manager to lead our field delivery capability and help
drive the next stage of growth.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager - Field Services, you'll be
responsible for leading construction and field services teams across multiple
projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and
to the highest quality standards. Acting as the critical link between project
leadership and field execution, you'll play a key role in building
high-performing teams and delivering successful project outcomes. Given the
nature of this role, site travel will be a requirement at times.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations across multiple construction
sites and field service crews, ensuring safe, consistent and high-quality
project delivery.
- Provide leadership and direction to Construction Managers,
Site Superintendents and Field Services teams, driving accountability against
program, budget and quality targets.
- Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and subcontractor
resources to meet project demands across concurrent projects.
- Champion a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with WHS
legislation, industry standards, network operator requirements and HSEQ
systems.
- Partner with Project Managers and Project Directors to
monitor project performance, manage field budgets and proactively resolve
delivery challenges.
- Oversee construction, testing, commissioning, maintenance
and emergency response activities, ensuring seamless project handovers to
clients and network partners.
- Drive continuous improvement through the standardisation of
field processes, adoption of digital tools and implementation of lessons
learned across projects.
Requirements
You are a proven operational leader with a strong background
delivering complex power, utilities or renewable energy projects. You thrive in
fast-paced environments, lead from the front and know how to get the best out
of people while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety. You will bring:
- Significant experience in operations, construction or field
management within the utilities, power delivery, high-voltage substation,
renewable energy or BESS sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of substation and BESS
construction, overhead lines, reticulation, testing and commissioning
activities.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary field teams
and subcontractors across multiple active project sites.
- Solid understanding of WHS requirements, AS/NZS standards,
ENA guidelines and network operator/DNSP requirements.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing
project budgets, forecasting costs and supporting variations and claims.
- Confident building relationships with clients, utilities,
network partners and key stakeholders, with the ability to represent the
business professionally.
- Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication
skills, sound judgement under pressure and a genuine commitment to safety as a
core value.
