Operations Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day engineering operations and ensure smooth execution of projects and maintenance activities.
- Lead and supervise the engineering team, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and site personnel.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering works to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to required standards.
- Review engineering plans, drawings, specifications, method statements, and work schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Monitor project progress, manpower deployment, equipment utilization, and material requirements.
- Ensure all engineering works comply with relevant Singapore regulations, safety requirements, codes, and company procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering and operations teams when required.
- Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Monitor project costs and assist management in controlling operational and engineering expenses.
- Ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance activities are carried out for engineering systems and equipment.
- Review and approve technical reports, inspection reports, progress reports, and other engineering documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality, progress, safety, and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate emergency, breakdown, and urgent engineering works when required.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and improve engineering work processes.
- Assist management in manpower planning, recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of engineering personnel.
- Maintain good working relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Prepare regular operational and management reports for senior management.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic and Communication Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering/operations experience, preferably with experience in the building services, electrical engineering, M&E, construction, facilities management, or maintenance industry.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams and overseeing multiple projects or operational activities.
- Strong knowledge of engineering systems, maintenance practices, project coordination, and site operations.
- Good understanding of Singapore workplace safety requirements and relevant statutory regulations.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Able to manage manpower, resources, schedules, and project priorities effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Able to work independently under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/project management software.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Relevant professional certifications or registration with local authorities/professional bodies will be an advantage.
- Willing to travel to project sites and work outside normal hours when required.
- Singapore driving license will be an advantage.
