Operations Manager - Transport and Logistics

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will oversee daily transport and logistics activities, including fleet management, distribution, warehousing, and customer service. You will lead a team of drivers and operations staff, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance standards are consistently met. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial awareness and the ability to drive continuous improvement across all areas of logistics and transport.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day logistics and transport operations, ensuring on-time and in-full deliveries.
• Lead and develop warehouse, transport, and operations teams.
• Optimize routes, fleet utilization, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with EU/national transport laws, health & safety, and company standards.
• Monitor KPIs (OTD, OTIF, cost per shipment) and drive improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, and key stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, costs, and operational performance.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in logistics/transport management (freight forwarding, contract logistics, or distribution).
• Strong leadership skills with proven people management experience.
• Knowledge of EU/national transport regulations (ADR, driver hours, road safety, etc.).
• Commercial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in logistics systems (TMS/WMS/ERP – e.g., SAP, CargoWise).
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or relative experience.
