Operations Specialist (Entry-Level Logistics Ops)

Role Overview
We are seeking an Operations Specialist to support daily logistics execution across shipments, customer updates, and internal coordination. This role is ideal for detail-oriented candidates who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage high-volume tasks, and ensure shipments are tracked, updated, and resolved efficiently.

This is an entry-level role with growth potential into dispatch, carrier operations, and account operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor active loads/shipments and maintain status accuracy in the TMS
- Track pickup and delivery milestones and ensure on-time performance
- Communicate shipment updates to internal teams and clients as needed
- Coordinate with carriers, dispatch teams, drivers, and warehouse contacts
- Identify issues (missed pickups, delays, appointment problems) and escalate quickly
- Support documentation flow (PODs, BOLs, rate confirmations, invoices)
- Maintain clean, accurate operational records and load notes
- Assist with exception management and basic claims support as needed

Required Qualifications
- 1+ year experience in logistics operations, dispatch, customer service, or back-office support (preferred)
- Strong written English communication (clear, professional, and concise)
- High attention to detail and comfort working with repetitive workflows
- Ability to prioritize tasks under time pressure
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn tools quickly

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with truckload (TL), LTL, drayage, 3PL, or brokerage workflows
- Experience working with a TMS (McLeod, MercuryGate, AscendTMS, Tailwind, etc.)
Overnight shift availability (a major plus)

Success Metrics (KPIs)
- On-time update accuracy in TMS
- Exception response time
- Load coverage / throughput per shift
- Error rate in documentation and data entry
