About your team

The Operations team aims to position Fidelity as a provider of excellence of investment solutions and services to our broad client base including direct investors, financial advisers, wholesale intermediaries and institutions. The team is structured with dedicated Client Service, Fund Accounting and ETFs.

ETFs is responsible for the implementation and day-to-day management of the ETF product range in Australia, ensuring the services supporting the ETFs in market are delivered accurately and efficiently every trading day.

Fidelity currently operates 14 unlisted funds and 5 Active ETFs with plans to expand this offering.

About your role

This is a key role responsible for the day-to-day management of Fidelity’s ETF capability, coordinating activities across the ETF primary and secondary markets and working closely with external service providers (e.g. Market Makers, Authorised Participants and iNAV service providers). You will be involved in managing and helping evolve the Australian business’ ETF platform, ensuring it continues to function effectively alongside all the stakeholders that support the entire ETF ecosystem.

Specifically, the role will be responsible for performing start of day checks prior to ASX market open, including reviewing and verifying the daily iNAVs produced and portfolio disclosure files consumed by third party service providers, along with monitoring third party service providers’ service requirements throughout the trading day (such as monitoring iNAV publication and market making obligations).

ETF responsibilities will also extend to the ongoing oversight of third-party vendors, as the role will seek to continuously improve and evolve the services and operational functionality provided by these outsourced service providers. Reviewing, documenting and maintaining internal processes and operating documentation that support the ETF capability will be important to ensure we remain in compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

The role will contribute to growing our ETF offering by assisting with the delivery and implementation of new ETF share classes and/or the launch of new ETF vehicles.

The role may provide cross-functional support and operational coverage across related teams, including Fund Accounting, to ensure continuity of business operations during periods of leave, peak workloads, or other resourcing requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to day ETF operations including the effective oversight of iNAVs, market making activities, authorised participant creations/redemptions and periodic ASX disclosures.
  • Efficient & timely delivery of operational requirements, ensuring any issues or interruptions are immediately resolved.
  • Ensure the daily/periodic internal and compliance reporting obligations are met - such as monthly finance reporting, monthly market maker activity monitoring, AP risk exposure monitoring etc.
  • Ensure all ETF policies and procedures are kept up-to-date and reviewed annually.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and implement new procedures as required (per ASX/ASIC requirements).
  • Work closely with third party ETF providers to continuously review, improve and evolve the operational functionality of the ETFs.
  • Identify and execute on operational enhancements, as needed.
  • Conduct quarterly performance review meetings and annual due diligence of third-party ETF vendors, including market maker(s), PCF provider and iNAV calculation agent.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, both locally and globally.
  • Support product, marketing and sales efforts through assisting with the provision of relevant product-related data such as ETF trading activity reports, FSC questionnaire responses, competitor analysis, etc.
  • Assist in future ETF product launches.
  • Provide cross-functional support across related teams, including Fund Accounting, as required.

About you

  • 5+ years relevant experience in an ETF/fund accounting service environment ideally within a fund manager, custodian or fund administrator team.
  • ETF operations and markets experience preferable
  • RG146 compliance or prepared to complete required learning to attain RG146.
  • Tertiary qualifications which support your fund accounting knowledge.
  • Detailed knowledge of the rules and regulations with respect to managed investment schemes and the regulatory requirements of a Responsible Entity.
  • Customer focused and service-oriented: high degree of responsiveness with quick turnaround, impeccable follow-up, consistent high level of attention to detail with a focus on exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to make the complicated simple and resolve complex issues.
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm to keep abreast of developments in the financial services industry, including regulatory and market changes as they relate to managed investment schemes and Fidelity funds.
  • Ability to work independently, seek information and use initiative to achieve results.
  • Be pro-active, enabling new thoughts and ideas to be surfaced in relation to continual process improvements, automation and efficiencies.
