Description

Job Title: Operations & Supply Chain Analyst – Continuous Improvement

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Department: Operations – Continuous Improvement

KULR Technology Group is a publicly traded company (NYSE: KULR) with a vibrant startup dynamic headquartered in Webster, Texas. Our mission is developing energy management platforms to accelerate the global transition to a circular electrification economy. We create sustainable solutions that benefit humanity using space-proven engineering, making the world of batteries and electronics cooler, lighter, and safer. We operate in four verticals: e-mobility, environmental/energy storage, industrial/consumer tools, and aerospace/defense. Our technologies have been deployed by NASA, including applications on the Space Station and Mars Rover.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations & Supply Chain Analyst – Continuous Improvement is a hands-on operations role for someone who has worked in a manufacturing or supply chain environment and wants to make it run better. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Analyst spends real time on the production and warehouse floor — running time studies, mapping how material and work actually flow, and quantifying cost, freight, labor, and inventory — and turns what they find into cost savings, stronger supplier compliance (NDAA, country of origin, AS9100), and smarter inventory planning.

The analytical and systems work — dashboards, data definitions, and requirements for KULR’s internal, AI-enabled operations platform — is how the Analyst delivers and sustains those improvements. It supports the operations and supply chain work; it is not the job itself. This is a role for an operations or supply chain professional who is analytical, not for a data or business-systems analyst seeking an operations title.

The Analyst does not belong to any one function. The role serves production, equipment, warehouse, and supply chain leaders, and maintains KULR’s supplier compliance data and inventory planning parameters in KULR’s internal, AI-enabled operations platform. The Production Supervisors, Equipment & Maintenance Manager, Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager, Warehouse & Logistics Specialist, and the Controller’s procurement team own the operational work these deliverables support. This is an individual-contributor role with no supervisory responsibility.

DELIVERABLES

The role is measured on these outputs:

  • Cost-savings business cases (payback, annualized savings, sensitivity) and a savings tracker showing planned versus realized results by initiative — covering freight consolidation, packaging, expedite-spend reduction, inventory carrying cost, and labor productivity.
  • Freight-rate benchmarks and consolidation scenarios (LTL, parcel, and dangerous goods) for the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager’s decision.
  • A current, audit-ready supplier compliance file in the platform: NDAA and country-of-origin attestations, supplier certificates (ISO 9001 / AS9100) with expiration tracking, and Approved Vendor List (AVL) records.
  • Inventory planning parameters — min/max, reorder point, and safety stock for common stock — calculated and maintained in the platform and reviewed monthly.
  • Labor and throughput analytics: labor hours per unit by configuration, takt and cycle-time studies, line-balance and staffing models, and utilization / idle-time analysis.
  • Current-state and future-state process maps for production, warehouse, kitting, receiving, and shipping workflows.
  • Spend and demand-history analytics supporting the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager’s and Controller’s sourcing decisions.
  • Analytics models and dashboards in the platform for cost, freight, labor, throughput, and equipment — built to KPI frameworks owned by the respective Operations leaders.
  • Functional specifications, data definitions, acceptance criteria, and executed user-acceptance test plans for Operations enhancements to the platform; user work instructions and training materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SCOPE OF WORK

Supply Chain Analysis & Supplier Compliance

  • Owns the supplier compliance file in the platform: requests written NDAA and country-of-origin attestations from suppliers by part family, records them, tracks open requests to closure, and flags missing or non-compliant suppliers to the VP of Operations, Quality, and the Controller. Verbal commitments are not accepted.
  • Collects and records supplier quality certifications (ISO 9001 / AS9100) and other required certificates, tracks expiration dates, requests renewals before they lapse, and reports upcoming expirations monthly.
  • Maintains Approved Vendor List (AVL) records — supplier status, evaluation forms, and onboarding documents from Procurement — kept audit-ready for AS9100. Status changes are approved by Quality.
  • Performs freight-rate analytics — benchmarks LTL, parcel, and dangerous-goods rates across carriers and lanes, models consolidation scenarios — and prepares recommendations for the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager. Does not book shipments, select carriers, or manage carrier relationships.
  • Calculates and maintains min/max, reorder points, and safety stock for common stock in the platform using consumption history, bills of material, lead times, and order minimums; validates quantities with Production and the Warehouse & Logistics Specialist; reviews monthly.
  • Prepares spend and demand-history analytics in support of the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager’s and Controller’s sourcing decisions. Contacts suppliers only to request compliance documentation; does not negotiate with, select, or qualify suppliers.

Cost, Throughput & Continuous Improvement

  • Builds quantitative business cases for improvement initiatives identified by Operations leaders — labor productivity, line balancing, changeover reduction, equipment availability, freight consolidation, packaging, expedite-spend reduction, and inventory carrying cost — and tracks realized savings against plan for the monthly review with Finance.
  • Performs time studies and cycle-time analysis with Production Supervisors; models takt, station balance, and crew size by product configuration; quantifies the throughput effect of proposed changes.
  • Analyzes labor data (hours by work order, program, and station) to report labor hours per unit, utilization, and idle time, and to identify cross-training and allocation opportunities for the Production Supervisors’ decision.
  • Facilitates improvement events (process mapping, 5 Whys, standard-work documentation, 5S assessments) with production and warehouse teams at the request of the owning leader; tracks actions to closure and quantifies results.
  • Maintains the Operations improvement log and reports progress to the VP of Operations monthly.

Operations Systems Support

The analytical and systems work below is how the Analyst delivers, scales, and sustains the operations and supply chain improvements above.

  • Maps current-state workflows across production, equipment, warehouse, kitting, receiving, labor, and shipping; identifies manual, duplicated, or error-prone steps that can be automated or improved in the platform.
  • Builds dashboards and exception reports in the platform (for example, labor-to-work-order mismatches, platform-to-NetSuite inventory variance alerts during the NetSuite migration, supplier certificate expirations, and upcoming material shortages) so issues surface automatically.
  • Authors functional requirements, data definitions, and acceptance criteria for Operations enhancements; plans and executes user-acceptance testing; documents results and coordinates fixes with the platform team.
  • Writes and maintains user work instructions and quick-reference guides, delivers user training, and standardizes data definitions so reporting is consistent and agrees with NetSuite while both systems are in use during the migration.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES NOT DO

To keep ownership clear, the following remain with the functions named and are outside this role’s scope: supervising production or warehouse staff; material planning execution, purchase requisitions, or purchase orders; cycle counts, inventory adjustments, or transfers; supplier selection, qualification decisions, performance management, or negotiation; shipment booking, carrier coordination, or dangerous-goods documentation; equipment maintenance or repair; and day-to-day administration of NetSuite. Shortage resolution and cycle counts sit with the Warehouse & Logistics Specialist; purchasing sits with the Controller’s procurement team; supplier status approval sits with Quality.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None. This position is an individual contributor directed by the Vice President of Operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain operations environment — not a purely analytics, data, or business-intelligence role. Hands-on experience on a production or warehouse floor is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in two or more of: supplier compliance (NDAA, country of origin, AS9100 / ISO, AVL, certificates of conformance); freight and logistics cost analysis; inventory planning (min/max, reorder points, safety stock, ABC); and production time studies, cycle-time analysis, or line balancing — required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a financial business case (payback, annualized savings, variance to plan) and present it to leadership — required.
  • Advanced Excel (data models, pivot tables, lookups) required. Experience with a BI or dashboard tool (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) a plus.
  • Comfortable learning and improving AI-enabled operations software and writing clear requirements, work instructions, and acceptance criteria; prior exposure to an ERP (NetSuite) or an internally developed operations platform — a plus.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; experience in an AS9100, ITAR, or other regulated manufacturing environment — a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Working knowledge of supplier quality and sourcing requirements: AS9100 supplier records, certificates of conformance, NDAA sourcing restrictions, ITAR/EAR, and country of origin.
  • Understanding of freight modes and rating, cost-to-serve, and inventory carrying cost; and of inventory planning methods (min/max, reorder points, safety stock, ABC classification).
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts: takt, standard work, line balancing, OEE, changeover reduction, 5S.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; turns operational and transactional data into a clear recommendation with a quantified benefit.
  • Clear technical writing: requirements, acceptance criteria, work instructions, and concise summary decks for leadership.
  • Organized and self-directed; manages several initiatives at once against deadlines across multiple functions.
  • Collaborative and neutral — works for the leaders who own the process and presents findings without taking over their decisions.
  • Willing to spend significant time on the production and warehouse floor observing work.
