Operations Support Engineer - GCP (JD#11278)

Job Summary

We are looking for an Operations Support Engineer to support a GCP-based data analytics and reporting platform for Financial Markets, Trading, Risk, and Finance. The role focuses on production support, incident management, SQL troubleshooting, monitoring, automation, CI/CD, and platform reliability, while collaborating with global Agile teams and stakeholders.

Mandatory Skill-set

  • Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience in GCP / Google Cloud, including services such as BigQuery, GCS, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Monitoring, or Cloud Logging;
  • Hands-on experience supporting GCP-based data analytics platforms;
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills;
  • Experience in production/application support, incident and problem management;
  • Hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/Kibana, or similar observability tools;
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation, and monitoring;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across performance, reliability, and data-quality issues;
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment;
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, with hands-on experience in Incident, Problem, and Change Management; ITIL certification is a plus.

Desired Skill-set

  • Exposure to Financial Markets, Trading, Risk Management, or Banking is preferred;
  • Strong team player with a positive, proactive, and collaborative attitude;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production and application support for GCP-based data analytics platforms;
  • Manage incidents, problem management, and root-cause analysis (RCA);
  • Monitor performance, reliability, and observability using ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus;
  • Drive automation, CI/CD, and operational improvements;
  • Troubleshoot SQL, application, performance, and data-quality issues;
  • Support testing, releases, and production deployments;
  • Collaborate with business, development, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams;
  • Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and technical documentation;
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum activities and global on-call/standby rotation.
