Operations Support Engineer
We are looking for an Operations Support Engineer to support and maintain business-critical applications and cloud environments. You will work closely with developers, product teams and business users to ensure systems remain stable, secure and highly available.
The role covers L1/L2 support, L3 code-level troubleshooting, production operations, cloud infrastructure and incident management.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 application support and L3 code-level troubleshooting for production and non-production systems.
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance to ensure system availability, stability and reliability.
- Investigate and resolve application, infrastructure and security incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Perform root-cause analysis and work with developers, infrastructure teams and vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Support cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environments.
- Set up and maintain cloud environments to support application and AI-related use cases.
- Implement application and infrastructure monitoring using APM and cloud-native monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch.
- Support incident, problem and change management processes using ITSM tools.
- Implement security controls and manage privileged access to test and production environments.
- Identify opportunities to automate operational activities using Terraform, Ansible, scripting or other automation tools.
- Support DevOps/CI/CD pipelines, application deployments and environment configurations.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, operational runbooks, system documentation and audit records.
- Analyse operational statistics, system performance and incidents, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Participate in on-call or 24/7 production support where required.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Experience in Application Support, Production Support, Operations Engineering, DevOps or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience supporting production applications, including incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with monitoring/APM tools and cloud-native monitoring such as AWS CloudWatch.
- Understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes, including incident, problem and change management.
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and information security practices.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible is advantageous.
- Good understanding of application and infrastructure security and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Relevant AWS, Azure or Google Cloud certifications.
- Experience supporting applications in government or highly regulated environments.
- Experience with AI/Generative AI applications and AWS AI services.
- Knowledge of RAG, tool calling, workflow automation and data lakes.
- Experience implementing operational automation to reduce downtime and manual errors.
