Operator, Logging Service
Job purpose
Drive wireline trucks and cranes safely to execute wireline land operations on time.
Key accountabilities
Job specific accountabilities
- Drive wireline truck and light vehicle from and to base camp or other locations.
- Perform wireline operations including rig up/down wireline equipment and tools.
- Monitor the X-Over are properly selected and the required size for X-Trees.
- Carry out operational checklists on site.
- Check wireline unit hydraulic oil and fluid levels.
- Allocate all safety equipment and sign boards in the location.
- Check HSE passport is available with crew members before leaving for wireline workshop.
- Attend the job briefing/debriefing sessions regularly with supervisor.
- Keep the working area tidy, clear from any obstructions and site appearance.
- Connect and disconnect pressure control equipment before and after wireline operations.
- Maintain truck inventory and ensure all tools are ready to run.
- Check smart monitor operating system and inform the supervisor of any deficiencies.
- Assist, coordinate in equipment testing, certification and inspection.
- Follow up truck and equipment monthly maintenance.
- Maintain wireline truck properly including clean up, replacement tools and truck file.
- Follow safety rules on road and on site.
- Record wire log sheet and complete the final report that needs to be delivered to the client.
- Prepare daily wireline report and fill ADNOC Drilling and client checklists.
- Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.

- Policies, systems, processes & procedures: Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures to accomplish operational objectives.
- Training: Provide on-the-job training to meet competency based training programs for UAE nationalization.
- Innovation and continuous improvement: Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures and functional processes.
- Health, safety, environment (HSE) and sustainability: Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the division in line with international standards, best practices and corporate code of practices to ensure integrity and safety of assets.
- Housekeeping: Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during operations, in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
- Reports: Provide inputs to prepare section progress reports for company management.
- Prepare various key performance indicator (KPI) checklists for management.
Communications & working relationships
Internal: Regular contacts with immediate associates for follow-up. Has regular contact with supervisory personnel.
External: None.
Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills
Minimum qualification: Diploma in a technical field.
Minimum experience & knowledge & skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an operator in a professional logging company.
- Good knowledge of basic tool checking, hydraulics, safety procedures, etc.
- Completion of all HSE courses required for the logging operations.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
