OPIOID COMMUNITY RESPONSE COORDINATOR
This is a full-time grant-funded position and receives all benefits afforded to regular employees. This position requires working 40 hours per week.
Summary: This position develops and promotes community strategies to prevent overdoses, reduce drug abuse, and the stigma of addiction within the community.
Essential Job Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. Duties listed may not be performed by all incumbents, and levels may be assigned based on the skills and proficiency each incumbent demonstrates.
- Act as a bridge between public health initiatives, community organizations, law enforcement, emergency medical responders, and individuals affected by Opioid misuse.
- Responsible for the implementation of programs aimed at reducing opioid use and disorders, preventing overdoses, and community engagement.
- Coordinate public education campaigns, harm reduction programs (e.g., naloxone distribution), and resource awareness events in the community.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive community-level opioid risk-reduction strategy aligned with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Manages outside contracts for community technical assistance and responses.
- Develop and promote educational campaigns to prevent overdoses, reduce drug abuse, and reduce the stigma of addiction within the community.
- Works with multiple agencies to ensure that responses align with the strategic plan.
- Represents Glynn County in multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Develops and manages statistical tracking for grant compliance.
- Track, analyze, and report data related to opioid-related incidents, overdose trends, and community impacts.
- Implement the strategic plan as adopted by the Glynn County Board of Commissioners.
