Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Compensation: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience.
Location: Rochester, NY On-Site
Position Overview:
The Optical Systems Manufacturing Engineer II provides hands on labor and support to the Optics Manufacturing group for the assembly, testing, and documentation of optical components and subassemblies. Core tasks include building products, documentation, supporting inspection using test equipment and transitioning new products from engineering to production.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Build new and enhanced optical subsystems as required by the design.
- Design evaluations of optical systems to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis of new and existing optical systems to ensure satisfaction of specifications.
- Partner with Optics Manufacturing to address assembly and manufacturability that maximizes productivity while minimizing error and performance compromises.
- Assist in production of thin film optical coatings.
- Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of optical coating equipment.
