EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Currently a candidate for a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with an accredited institution.
As a part of our team, you will:
Improve and extend Python-based test automation frameworks used for validating optical transceiver hardware and system-level performance.
Apply AI tools (e.g., Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, LLM-based agents) to accelerate automation development, code review, and test result analysis.
Interface directly with optical test hardware — including instruments such as optical spectrum analyzers, tunable lasers, variable optical attenuators, and high-speed bit-error-rate testers.
Develop and enhance workflow automation for test execution pipelines, data collection, and reporting.
Investigate test failures and anomalies, performing root cause analysis on both software and hardware layers.
You Have:
- Strong programming skills in Python, including writing clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work through complex technical challenges in a systematic manner.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated persistence, initiative, and ownership when working on technical projects.
Really Nice to have:
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as PyTest or Robot Framework.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing environments.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, or ChatGPT.
- Exposure to hardware interfaces and instrument communication protocols such as Serial, GPIB, or SCPI.
- Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar development tools.
- Coursework or project experience in signal processing, communications, optical networking, or photonic systems.
- Experience with Python data analysis libraries including pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib.
- Basic understanding of optical networking technologies and transceiver validation processes.
