The Department of Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a board-eligible/board-certified optometrist to join our established academic practice. This position within the team will cover clinical care of patients, comprehensive eye care and participation in a care team in collaboration with esteemed physicians and technicians. Specific interests in Ocular Disease are preferred. Candidates should be residency-trained and willing to participate in the department’s academic activities.

The department has 40 members who cover all subspecialty areas of ophthalmology, providing services for more than 80,000 patients per year. Mayo Clinic is a non-profit, physician-led, multi-specialty clinical practice integrated with education and research in a unified, multi-campus environment. Mayo Clinic is an academic tertiary care institution that includes campuses in Minnesota, Arizona and Florida.   • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board-eligible or board-certified Optometrist
  • Completion of an accredited optometry residency is preferred. Equivalent clinical experience, including substantial experience (e.g., 5+ years) in a tertiary or academic practice environment, may be considered in lieu of residency training.
  • Clinical interests in Ocular Disease and/or Low Vision preferred
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a broad spectrum of optometric services
  • Interest in academic medicine, including active participation in teaching, research, and other departmental scholarly activities
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Minneosta
