GENERAL SUMMARY:
As an Optometrist at OptimEyes, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care while collaborating with our General Manager, clinical leadership, and the Department of Ophthalmology. You'll contribute to a thriving practice that balances clinical excellence with professional growth, ensuring every patient receives comprehensive, compassionate eye care while helping our office achieve its performance goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
- Deliver comprehensive primary eye care including ocular health evaluations, refractive services, and contact lens prescriptions and management
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic eye diseases with evidence-based medical care
- Provide specialty eye care services such as medically necessary contact lens fitting and dry eye management, based on your training and expertise
- Maintain the highest standards of professional care and clinical best practices
Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with clinical leadership to ensure seamless delivery of eye care across all patient populations
- Mentor and support ancillary staff development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence
- Serve as a clinical role model, embodying our commitment to compassionate, quality care
- Contribute to professional staffing planning and clinic coverage coordination
Practice Growth & Professional Development
- Build and strengthen relationships with Henry Ford Medical Centers, emergency departments, and system partners to expand referral networks
- Develop strategic partnerships with external organizations including pharmacies and healthcare facilities to enhance patient access to care
- Maintain and nurture key professional relationships that support practice growth
- Pursue continuing education and professional development to advance your expertise and maintain licensure
Organizational Engagement
- Actively participate in office and staff meetings, contributing to practice improvement initiatives
- Support practice-building programs and strategic initiatives that advance OptimEyes' mission
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Successful completion of the program from a school of Optometry.
- Previous direct patient care experience.
- Experience in primary care optometry, preferred
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Licensed as an Optometrist in the State of Michigan.
- Must be T.P.A./D.P.A. certified.
- Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy
- Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works in a retail optical environment.
- Requires evening and weekend hours.
