Summary
Perioperative registered nurse who assesses, plans, and delivers individualized intraoperative care for surgical patients in a hospital OR, focusing on patient needs and safety.
Responsible for immediately assessing each individual patient upon admission to OR addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, discharge planning factors and significant other/family support as appropriate.
Assesses and reassess patients on an ongoing basis, identifying patient needs/problems, nursing interventions. Develops individualized plans of nursing care for patients in the intraoperative setting and which meets the identified needs of each patient
