Job Summary

Performs clerical and related duties to assist the OR manager and Purchasing Supervisor in acquisition and distribution of supplies and equipment for hospital.

Reports to: Materials Manager

Essential Job Functions

1. Receives, processes and stocks/distributes incoming orders according to departmental procedures.

1. Collects, restocks and returns supply carts in conjunction with the operating room personnel.

1. Arranges and rotates items on shelves.

1. Fills stock requisitions and preference sheet orders from the OR department and delivers to the appropriate location.

1. Assists as needed in the pick-up and delivery of items outside the hospital.

1. Processes outbound shipping documents and packages; processes returns to vendors.

1. Issues daily supply order to warehouse.

1. Assist OR Supply Coordinator with implant consignment inventory.

1. Maintains appropriate par levels on all supplies in all OR stocking locations.

1. Identifies, removes and reports expired product to Materials Manager.

1. Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.

11.1 Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day to day activities of the position.

11.2 Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel and strategic issues. Adheres to Confidentiality Policy.

11.3 Maintains positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment. Adheres to the hospital’s Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct in the HR Manual.
