Oracle Database Administrator

Salary: RM 8,000 – RM 10,000 per month

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain and support enterprise database environments across MidRange/Wintel platforms. The role will be responsible for database administration, performance, availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, upgrades and capacity planning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Oracle Database Administration, including installation, configuration, upgrades and patching.

• Monitor and perform database performance tuning and optimization.

• Manage database backup and recovery activities.

• Automate database monitoring and alert generation.

• Support and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) environments and processes.

• Implement and support database clustering technologies such as Oracle RAC, HACMP, Veritas Cluster and Windows Cluster.

• Manage and support database replication technologies including Oracle Data Guard, Oracle GoldenGate and Disk Replication.

• Perform DBMS installation, upgrades and maintenance.

• Ensure database environments comply with established standards and procedures.

• Perform capacity management and capacity planning.

About you

• Minimum 5 years of Database Administration experience on MidRange/Wintel databases.

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience, OR Diploma in IT with a minimum of 7 years of relevant IT experience.

• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Administration.

• Oracle Database installation, upgrades and patching.

• Database performance tuning.

• Backup & Recovery.

• Database monitoring and alert automation.

• Disaster Recovery.

• Oracle RAC and clustering technologies.

• Database replication using Data Guard, GoldenGate and Disk Replication.
