Oracle Database Developer

  • Initial 6-month contract with the potential view to extend
  • Conveniently located in Melbourne CBD with WFH arrangement (3 days' in the office)

This well-known utility company is currently on the lookout for an experienced Oracle Database Developer. You will be responsible for designing, developing, optimising, and supporting enterprise Oracle database solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database solutions including tables, views, sequences, indexes, packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Develop high-quality SQL and PL/SQL code to support enterprise applications and business processes.
  • Analyse and optimise database performance through execution plan analysis, query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using APIs, web services, XML, and Oracle middleware technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and production support.


Requirements:

  • Strong commercial experience as an Oracle Developer in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development skills.
  • Extensive experience developing:
    • Stored Procedures
    • Functions
    • Packages
    • Triggers
    • Views
    • Sequences
    • Indexes
  • Strong understanding of database design, data modelling, schema management, and data integrity principles.
  • Demonstrated experience tuning complex SQL and PL/SQL code using execution plans and performance optimisation techniques.
  • Experience supporting database migration and modernisation projects.
