Description

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: 2 days in-office

Our Technology team is the backbone of our company: constantly creating, testing, learning and iterating to better meet the needs of our customers. If you thrive in a fast-paced, ideas-led environment, you’re in the right place.

Why this job’s a big deal:

Join a dynamic, Agile team dedicated to building the future of travel technology. We continuously explore new innovations and engineer solutions to meet evolving business needs.

We are seeking an Oracle EBS Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in supporting the Oracle E-Business Suite financial modules, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL). In this role, you will install, configure, tune, secure, and maintain the Oracle databases and EBS application environments that power our financial operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. You will work closely with developers, functional teams, and infrastructure partners to support period-end close, troubleshoot issues, and keep systems running smoothly.

In this role you will get to:

  • Lead the administration, monitoring, and architecture of EBS application tier components including Oracle WebLogic Server, application services, and AutoConfig management, setting standards and best practices for the team.
  • Administer and optimize the underlying Oracle Database tier — including backup and recovery (RMAN), space and performance management, parameter tuning, and high-availability configurations (RAC/Data Guard) — ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of EBS databases.
  • Own the end-to-end online patching lifecycle using ADOP (prepare, apply, finalize, cutover, cleanup), define the patching strategy, and oversee post-patch validations across environments.
  • Plan and lead CPU/RU/PSU patching and version upgrades, including impact assessment, scheduling, and rollback planning.
  • Drive application performance optimization including concurrent manager tuning, JVM monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting of application logs, leveraging tools such as AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to diagnose and resolve complex performance issues.
  • Architect and support application integrations, workflow mailer, and interface configurations (bank connectivity), SFTP for inbound and outbound processes, and establish standards for reliability and security.
  • Lead application security configurations such as SSL certificates, profile options, and compliance-related activities, and partner with security/audit teams on remediation.
  • Define and oversee housekeeping and environment health standards including log/output purging, workflow data cleanup, disk space monitoring, and proactive health checks.
  • Own environment cloning (APPS), including automation and standardization of the cloning process.
  • Lead release and change management activities including migration of custom objects, SIT/UAT support, and post-deployment validation, acting as a key approver and technical reviewer.
  • Mentor and upskill junior DBAs, embedding DB best practices and standards across the team and raising the overall technical bar.
  • Partner closely with Product, Development, and Infrastructure teams to plan, coordinate, and implement DB initiatives that drive customer happiness and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to long-term EBS platform strategy, including cloud migration readiness (e.g., OCI, Database@Cloud) and modernization initiatives.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology, or related industry experience or equivalent training and experience.
  • 6+ years of validated work experience as an Oracle EBS Apps DBA, with a proven track record owning production environments.
  • Deep expertise in EBS Concurrent Processing, including advanced troubleshooting and tuning.
  • Strong command of cloning and patching concepts, strategy, and execution across multiple environments.
  • Expert in Linux environments and shell scripting, with the ability to automate routine and complex DBA tasks.
  • Able to independently troubleshoot failed concurrent requests, interpret error messages, and resolve root causes.
  • Proficient in reading and acting on AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to drive performance improvements.
  • Able to work autonomously, lead by example, and empower the team with best methods and standards.
  • A proactive collaborator and mentor who helps others learn, grow, and handle critical DB tasks independently.
  • Comfortable providing 24x7 support on P1 issues as part of an On-Call Rotation, and able to lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • DB and related certifications strongly preferred (e.g., OCP, EBS R12 certifications).
  • Demonstrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability, and Trust.
  • The Right Results, the Right Way is not just a motto at Priceline; it’s a way of life. Unquestionable integrity and ethics is essential.
