Order Management Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Order Management Specialist to support the manufacturing order desk and serve as a key link between customers, sales, production, and planning. This role is responsible for managing customer quotation support, sales order entry, order status updates, and cross-functional coordination to help ensure accurate order processing and reliable customer deliveries.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams to support customer commitments. The primary ERP system used in this role will be SAP.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage the manufacturing order desk and serve as a primary point of contact for customer order-related inquiries
Prepare, process, and support customer quotations in coordination with sales, engineering, production, and planning teams
Enter, review, and maintain sales orders in SAP, ensuring accuracy of customer information, pricing, part numbers, quantities, delivery dates, and order requirements
Provide timely order status updates to customers, sales, and internal stakeholders
Coordinate with production and planning to support customer delivery requirements and resolve schedule or order-related issues
Monitor open orders and proactively communicate risks related to material availability, production timing, capacity, or delivery commitments
Maintain accurate records of quotations, sales orders, customer communications, and order changes
Support alignment between customer requirements and internal manufacturing capabilities
Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to improve order accuracy, response time, and customer satisfaction
Escalate order issues as needed and help drive timely resolution with the appropriate internal teams
Maintain compliance with company policies, quality requirements, safety expectations, and ERP data integrity standards
Skills and Education
Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent relevant experience preferred
Previous experience in order management, customer service, inside sales support, production coordination, or manufacturing administration preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system required
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate order and customer records
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to coordinate effectively across sales, production, planning, and customer-facing teams
Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
