Ordnance Production Manager
NewBe an early applicantYou will serve as a Ordnance Production Manager in the Production Department at the Navy Submarine Torpedo Facility (NSTF) of NAVSUBTORP FAC.
You will supervise a diverse team of government civilian and military personnel, exercising managerial authority to achieve the goals of the MK48 Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA).
You will exercise direct supervisory authority to plan, direct, coordinate, and assess work, ensuring the effective and expeditious execution of the Production Department's goals and schedules.
You will manage the planning, maintenance, and delivery of MK 48 Heavyweight Torpedoes, establishing short- and long-term objectives to meet fleet delivery dates and customer expectations.
You will serve as a torpedo production advisor to the Commanding Officer, setting departmental policies and ensuring effective execution of production schedules.
You will plan and manage resources, including equipment, material, and manpower, and resolve conflicts between customer demands and Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) capacity.
You will analyze and evaluate production operations, researching and implementing improved business practices to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize workflow.
You will serve as a Technical Assistant for NAVSEA service contracts by defining contract requirements, monitoring contractor deliverables, and providing performance assessment reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
You will provide comprehensive technical and management advisory assistance to subordinate supervisors and personnel on troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of the MK 48 ADCAP torpedo.
You will analyze failure trends, investigate process or safety deficiencies, and implement corrective action plans to enhance torpedo maintenance quality and reliability.
You will manage the preventive maintenance program for all machinery, test equipment, and ordnance handling equipment used in explosive torpedo loading, repair, rework, and handling.
You will identify training and developmental needs, monitor classroom and on-the-job training, and evaluate training systems to ensure a highly qualified, cross-trained, and flexible workforce.
You will manage hiring actions, promotions, training, and employee recognition.
You will interpret and enforce explosive safety and security regulations (including NAVSUP P-805 and NAVSEA OP5).
You will perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Department to support the overall operational readiness of the Submarine Fleet.
