SHIFT:
This position supports a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week transplant organ offer program and requires flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as scheduled. Schedule may vary based on operational needs to ensure continuous coverage of organ offer activities.
- Respond promptly to organ offers and communicate donor details to on-call physician
- Evaluate specific clinical criteria for donor and recipient
- Initiate and coordinate virtual/physical crossmatch workflows, including HLA coordination
- Contact and assess potential recipients, reviewing Organ specific Public Health Service, Kidney Donor Profile Index, and any donor risk factors
- Coordinate logistics for organ acceptance, courier tracking, and delivery confirmations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospital departments
- Ensure accurate documentation in multiple electronic databases and manage waitlist removals post-transplant according to policies and procedures
- Assist with waitlist management duties, including but not limited to updated orders, tracking results, and updating pre-transplant coordinators and transplant physicians of any abnormal results and/or need for further testing
- Respond to after-hours outpatient calls
- Independently triage calls from Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)/Transplant Institute patients, evaluate urgency of the calls, initiate and coordinate the care decided upon with the physicians
- Uphold confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory and organizational guidelines
- Monitor continued organ suitability and collaborate management of organ offers and recover teams with organ procurement organizations
- Work collaboratively with Transplant Quality team to identify and analyze improvement opportunities where appropriate
- Coordinate meetings for organ offer reviews and filter settings
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
VAD Competent training [Preferred]
Education:
Associate’s [Required]
Bachelor’s [Preferred]
Field of Study:
in Nursing
Work Experience:
2+ years experience in transplant coordination, organ procurement, critical care, or relevant clinical area [Required]
Experience with UNet and electronic medical record systems [Preferred]
Prior transplant or organ allocation experience [Preferred]

$72,189.82 - $134,259.75Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
